How to set up Razorpay for UPI and card payments

With Razorpay connected, customers pay by UPI, cards or netbanking, and the money settles straight into your own bank account. Beecart never holds your money and takes no commission. It takes about 10 minutes of form-filling, then Razorpay checks your details.

Step 1: Sign up on Razorpay

1. Open dashboard.razorpay.com/signup.
2. Enter your email or mobile number, create a password and type in the OTP.
3. Choose your business type. If you don't have GST, pick Unregistered.

Step 2: Add your details

1. Enter your name and mobile number.
2. Where it asks for your website, paste your Beecart shop link. Your shop already shows your contact details and its payments, shipping and returns pages, which Razorpay looks for.
3. Enter your PAN. Razorpay fills in your name and details for you to confirm.
4. Pick your brand name (your shop name) and business category.

Step 3: Finish KYC and add your bank

1. If your mobile number is linked to your KYC, verification finishes in seconds with an OTP.
2. If not, Razorpay asks for Aadhaar (through DigiLocker or an upload) and may do a short video KYC.
3. Add the bank account where you want your money. Razorpay deposits ₹1 to confirm it.
4. Submit. Razorpay reviews your application and switches on Live mode. Sometimes that's within minutes; a manual review can take a few working days. Keep taking cash on delivery orders meanwhile.

Step 4: Generate your API keys

1. In the Razorpay dashboard, make sure the switch at the top says Live mode, not Test mode.
2. Go to Account & Settings → API Keys and click Generate Key.
3. You get two values: a Key ID (starts with rzp_live_) and a Key Secret.
4. Copy or download both straight away. Razorpay shows the Key Secret only once. If you lose it, just generate a new key.

Step 5: Check it with a small order

Order something small from your own shop and pay by UPI. The order shows as paid in your order desk and the payment appears in your Razorpay dashboard. You can reject it afterwards and Beecart refunds it automatically.

Common questions

• What does it cost? Razorpay keeps a small fee on each online payment; your Razorpay plan shows the current rate. Beecart adds nothing on top.
• When do I get the money? Razorpay settles payments to your bank on its settlement schedule, usually within a few working days.
• I pasted a key starting with rzp_test_. That's a test key, and customers can't pay with it. Switch the dashboard to Live mode and generate a live key.
