Customers expect to pay by UPI. To accept UPI, cards and netbanking on your own online store, you need a payment gateway account. With Beecart you use your own Razorpay account, so every rupee settles directly to your bank account and Beecart takes no commission.
What you'll need
- Your PAN (personal or business)
- A current or savings bank account in the business or owner's name
- Business details: name, address and, if you have one, GSTIN
- Your shop link (for example yourshop.beecart.in), with your contact details and policies visible. Payment gateways check this during approval.
Step 1: Create a Razorpay account
Sign up at razorpay.com with your email and mobile number. You can explore the dashboard in test mode straight away.
Step 2: Complete KYC (activation)
Fill in your business details, bank account and documents in the Razorpay dashboard. Use your Beecart shop link as your website. Your shop already shows your contact details and its payments, shipping and returns pages, which helps approval. Approval usually takes a few working days.
Step 3: Get your API keys
In the Razorpay dashboard, go to Account & Settings → API Keys and generate a key.
You'll get a Key ID (starts with rzp_live_) and a Key Secret. Copy
the secret straight away; Razorpay only shows it once.
Step 4: Connect Razorpay to your shop
In your Beecart seller admin, open Store Settings → Online payments (Razorpay), paste the Key ID and Key Secret, and save. The secret is stored encrypted. UPI, cards and netbanking now appear at checkout next to cash on delivery.
Step 5: Place a test order
Order something small from your own shop and pay by UPI. Check that the order shows as paid in your order desk and the payment appears in your Razorpay dashboard.
Fees and settlement
Razorpay charges a gateway fee on each online payment and settles money to your bank on its settlement schedule; check your Razorpay plan for the current rates. Beecart adds nothing on top.
Refunds
If you reject a prepaid order, Beecart refunds it through Razorpay automatically. For returns, you approve the refund from the return request and it goes back to the customer's original payment method.
Common questions
- Can I start before Razorpay is approved? Yes. Take cash on delivery orders and switch on online payments when your account is active.
- Do I need GST to use Razorpay? It depends on your business type. Razorpay's signup tells you which documents it needs for yours.
